This guide is designed to help you set up and troubleshoot the printers available to NI\/CNBC members in the Mellon Institute. If you encounter any issues with your printer, please notify the NI Computing Administrator, David<\/b>, either in person or via email. David will do his best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/b> If your work is time-sensitive, please use an alternative printer from the list below until the issue is addressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Available Printers<\/b><\/h2>\n

The CNBC provides the following printers. To prevent errors, please ensure you are using the correct driver for each specific model.<\/p>\n

Special Feature: The FS-539 Finisher<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Konica Minolta C361i<\/b> is equipped with an FS-539 Finisher<\/b>. This hardware attachment allows for professional document handling directly from the print menu:<\/p>\n

    Stapling:<\/b> Automatically staple up to 50 sheets in the corner or side.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Offset Sorting:<\/b> Shifts each printed set slightly to the side, making it easy to separate multiple copies of the same document.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    High-Capacity Output:<\/b> Allows the printer to handle larger print runs without the paper tray overflowing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Printer Setup Instructions<\/b><\/h2>\n

    Windows 11 Installation<\/b><\/h3>\n

    For the most reliable connection, we recommend adding the printer manually via its IP address.<\/p>\n

    Method: Add Printer by IP Address (Recommended)<\/b><\/h4>\n

    1. \n

      Open Settings<\/b> > Bluetooth & devices<\/b> > Printers & scanners<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Click Add device<\/b>, wait a moment, then select The printer that I want isn\u2019t listed (Add manually)<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Choose Add a printer using a TCP\/IP address or hostname<\/b>, then click Next<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Hostname or IP address:<\/b> Enter the IP address from the table above (e.g., 128.2.244.33<\/code>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Device type:<\/b> Select Autodetect<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      Follow the prompts to install the driver. If the specific model isn’t listed, click Have Disk<\/b> and point the installer to the driver file you downloaded from the links above.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    7. \n

      Name the printer<\/b> (e.g., “MI 115 Konica”) and select Do not share this printer<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      macOS Installation<\/b><\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. \n

        Open System Settings<\/b> > Printers & Scanners<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        Click the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax…<\/b> button (or the +<\/b> icon).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        Click the IP tab<\/b> (the globe icon) at the top of the window.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      4. \n

        Address:<\/b> Enter the IP address (e.g., 128.2.244.33<\/code>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      5. \n

        Protocol:<\/b> Select HP Jetdirect \u2013 Socket<\/b> (usually the most stable for Konica\/Brother).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      6. \n

        Use:<\/b> macOS should automatically detect the software. If it defaults to “Generic PostScript,” click the dropdown, choose Select Software…<\/b>, and search for the model (e.g., C361i<\/b>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      7. \n

        Click Add<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
